While not always foremost most on your mind, money is always lurking as a close second. As human beings we want new things to keep us occupied and entertained. We would also like to obtain these things with as little effort as possible. While the rare person does hit the lottery, most of us have to devise our own means of generating income to purchase what we desire. Like it or not, money does make the world go round.

The mean person puts his or her nose to the proverbial grindstone and works for a living. Some work harder than others and get rewarded fairly for the effort put forward and some do not. The mean person takes his or her wages and pays down the accumulated debt leaving little left to invest or better his or her situation; ultimately stuck in a never-ending cycle, a virtual slave to work.

“So how can I change this reality?” you ask, be exceptional and instead of working for money make money work for you!

Stop and think about your life and make a decision on what you want to accomplish financially. Are you content with a middle class lifestyle? Do you want a little more? Next, analyze what you are currently doing to create the lifestyle you desire. Are you just following the mean crowd and investing a small amount of money in a diversified portfolio? Is your plan to get a mean job and retire off your 401(k) or social security? These are all plans, but risky plans…

The exceptional person becomes knowledgeable in money and finance and creates his or her own plan to satisfy desires. In modern society a plan for money and finances is in the top five (5) most important decisions you will make in your life, don’t just let it fall to chance by doing what the mean person does.
